    Concrete Contractor in Newark, NY

If you’re looking for a concrete contractor in Newark, NY, we install driveways, patios, and slabs built for durability in canal-adjacent and high-use environments. From homes near the Erie Canal to properties along Route 31 and Main Street, we build concrete designed to handle moisture, wear, and long-term performance.

Why Homeowners in Newark Choose Our Concrete Services

Concrete in Newark needs to be practical and built to last. Many properties deal with older surfaces, higher moisture levels near the canal, and everyday use that can wear down poorly installed concrete. We’ve worked throughout Newark and understand how to install concrete that holds up over time. Whether it’s replacing a driveway or installing a slab for a garage or outdoor space, we focus on proper base preparation, drainage, and durability.

Our goal is simple: install concrete that works — and keeps working.

    Recent Concrete Projects in Newark

We’ve completed a variety of concrete projects across Newark, often focused on durability and replacement.

    • Driveway replacement near Route 31 — rebuilt to eliminate cracking caused by poor base and moisture exposure
    • Concrete slab near Erie Canal area — installed with drainage planning to handle higher moisture levels
    • Backyard patio near Main Street — built for durability with proper grading
    • Garage floor slab near Vienna Street — reinforced for long-term use and stability

Each project is designed to handle both environment and everyday use.

Fixing the Root Cause Instead of Repeating the Problem

One of the most common mistakes is replacing concrete without addressing why it failed in the first place. Issues like poor drainage, weak base preparation, or improper installation will cause the same problems to return. Taking the time to correct these underlying issues ensures the new concrete lasts significantly longer and doesn’t require constant repairs.

TLDR: NG Masonry does outstanding work. Noah, Dave, and Teresa are fantastic people who care about precision, long‑term quality, and keeping the whole process stress free. I recommend them 1000 percent. Detail: Working with NG Masonry and Construction was a genuinely great experience. Noah, Dave, and Teresa were easy to talk to, kept me updated at every step, and clearly take pride in doing things the right way. Their communication was excellent, and the level of precision they brought to the project really stood out. This wasn’t just a garage floor and sidewalk replacement. It felt like a mix of craftsmanship and engineering. They treated my home and property with more care than any contractor I’ve ever hired. Everything was protected, cleaned up, and handled with real respect. The project stayed right on schedule, and they made the whole process simple and stress free. What really sets them apart is how they plan for the future. This wasn’t a quick fix or a basic replacement. They engineered the entire project to last. The drainage, the pitch, the base, the concrete mix, the reinforcement, all of it was done with long‑term durability in mind. You can feel the difference when you see the final result. I’m proud of how things turned out. The garage and sidewalk look the way they should look. Solid, clean, and built to stay that way. I feel confident in their work and relieved at how well everything turned out. NG Masonry went above and beyond from start to finish. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone who wants high quality work done by people who care. And if you’re a future customer, ask them what makes their process different from other contractors. You’ll be surprised at how much goes into doing it the right way.

We were so impressed with NG Masonry's work! After a bad experience with another contractor, it was a relief to work with NG Masonry. They demoed our existing patio and installed a new broom finish patio. They communicated clearly, hit their promised timeline, were tidy, and worked hard to understand our property and priorities and install something that checked all the boxes and looks like it will be functional and beautiful for a long time. Thanks again!

If you are looking for a Masonry contractor in Monroe County NY, Noah and the team at NG Masonry & Construction should be your top choice. Noah demonstrated why they have a high BBB rating. I was looking for a company to put in a 17 x 14 patio. We need a pad this size as we are going to install a gazebo and with the high winds we have had lately, over 40mps, I wanted a pad that would make sure the gazebo was firmly anchored. I check the BBB website and found a few contractors that had high ratings. After contacting them, I only heard from two NG and another company. The other company quoted a job that I considered substandard as it was a 4 in pad and wire mesh in the concrete. Noah then quoted a 5 in pad and rebar in the concrete. A much stronger and durable pad then just wire mesh and thick enough to make sure I can anchor the gazebo as per manufactures requirements. The installation took about 30 hours over 3 days and as you can see from the photo, it look like we have individual slabs installed instead of one continous pad. The after job cleanup was fantastic, since every thing had to be barreled in from the street, any damage to the lawn was leveled out, top soil applied and then seeded. As you can see, they also graded aound the pad and seeded. I have no problem with recommending them to anybody that needs Masonry work. Great Job Noah!!!

Choosing the Right Finish for Long-Term Use

Concrete surfaces in Newark are often used daily, which means the finish needs to hold up over time. A poorly finished surface can become rough, wear unevenly, or show damage more quickly. Choosing the right finish — whether it’s a standard broom finish for traction or a sealed decorative surface — helps maintain both durability and usability. The goal is to match the finish to how the space will actually be used.

    Reinforcement Based on Real Usage

Not all concrete installations require the same level of reinforcement. A standard walkway doesn’t need the same support as a driveway or garage slab. In Newark, many properties require concrete that can handle vehicles, equipment, or regular traffic. Using the right thickness, reinforcement, and joint spacing ensures the concrete can handle that stress without cracking or breaking down prematurely.

Managing Water Flow Around Canal-Adjacent Properties

Properties near the Erie Canal often deal with higher moisture levels and changing water tables. Without proper grading, water can collect under or around the concrete, weakening the base over time. Planning for water movement ensures the surface remains stable and prevents long-term damage.

      Addressing Moisture Before Installation

Installing concrete on damp or unstable ground can lead to early failure. Proper site preparation, including drying and compacting the base, is critical to ensuring the concrete performs as expected.
